Our video project

Although I may be bias, I think we did an amazing job with our video. It really is a culmination of our collaborative efforts through the class, and was only possible because we were able to work with each other effectively. Overall, I am extremely proud of what the team was able to accomplish. We were consistent in our team meetings, and always on top of deadlines. We optimized for asynchronous collaboration on assignments, but structured them for success.

Overall this course taught me about how to work well with a remote team. Beyond that the writing assignments helped me assess the efficacy of AI content and whether or not it's a good fit for academic assignments.

CST 300 - Week 2 - More than just a draft

  Part 1: Review and Reflect Learning Strategy Taking a look first the “Effective Study Skills” document, the top three items I excel in are: Gathering Materials Before You Write: I am good at gathering sources before I write a paper which is a habit I’ve learned from other writing classes. It helps create a mental structure even prior to an outline. How to use your time: I have a routine in life, and it helps me be effective with my time no matter what I’m doing. The value of a schedule: I keep a physical planner / schedule. It’s very helpful to keep track of deadlines. In terms of where I can improve, or where I’m weakest in, it would be the following: Taking Notes: I am not the best note taker. It would be beneficial to try to focus on this more. Reading Multiple-Choice Questions: I have been known to make mistakes on quizzes because I am not thoroughly reading each multiple choice answer. CST 300 - Week 3 - Things You Should Know

  Part 1 Last week I listed note taking as something I could improve on. Generally my notes are not as thorough as I want them to be, and my writing is sometimes messy. Beyond the obvious improvement of writing neater (haha), one tip that stuck out to me from the study strategy side was the idea of the Split Page Method. Essentially splitting your note page into three columns. The first is notes directly from your textbook. The second is notes directly from class. The third is questions you or other students ask the professor. I like the idea of doing the first column before a lecture, to allow me to connect what was in the book to the lecture immediately. Definitely something I will try as I finish up my lower division courses. Part 2 Update the learning journal to include what you have learned from this week's readings and activities—especially the materials on ethics. This week was good.
